Founded on a Simple Belief

CQTEC TVET COLLEGE was established in 2001 with a conviction that TVET education in Malaysia could do more than produce technically competent workers. It could produce people — professionals who communicate well, work with integrity, and grow with their organisations.

Over two decades and more than 5,000 graduates later, that belief has shaped every programme, every module, and every trainer we bring on board.

“We do not just train skills. We develop the whole person — because that is what employers actually need.”— Kalaichelvi V Ponnambalam, Executive Director

Our Commitment
UN Sustainable Development Goals wheel

Education with Purpose

CQTEC TVET COLLEGE supports all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The goals below are selected examples of how that commitment connects with our teaching and student support, not a claim of UN endorsement or certification.

UN SDGQuality Education
Why it matters

Malaysia's TVET sector trains the skilled workforce behind every hospital, building, and technology company in the country — yet places in quality, accredited programmes remain limited. The gap between qualified workers and what employers actually need widens every year, leaving capable young Malaysians underemployed and undervalued.

How CQTEC TVET COLLEGE contributes
JPK-accredited programmes that meet national industry standards and are recognised by employers
EQ-integrated curriculum that develops professional character alongside technical skills
Rolling intake removes semester waiting times — students start when they are ready
UN SDGGender Equality
Why it matters

Skilled trades and technical fields in Malaysia remain significantly male-dominated. When women are excluded from TVET pathways, half the workforce is shut out of high-growth sectors — and entire families stay in lower income brackets. Equal access to skills education is one of the most direct routes out of poverty.

How CQTEC TVET COLLEGE contributes
Every programme, scholarship, and placement opportunity is open to all students regardless of gender
A safe, professional learning environment where all students are held to the same standard
Female graduates are actively placed in technical and supervisory roles within industry
UN SDGDecent Work & Economic Growth
Why it matters

Malaysia's economic growth depends on a skilled technical workforce, yet youth unemployment consistently traces back to a mismatch between what graduates can do and what employers need. Certificates without real workplace readiness do not create economic value — for students or for the country.

How CQTEC TVET COLLEGE contributes
All programmes are designed around active labour market demand, not outdated curricula
Industry partnerships create a direct pipeline from classroom to employment
Over 5,000 graduates placed in skilled employment since the college was founded in 2001
